The third technical session of the 2024-25 webinar series by the Department of Justice commenced with an insightful overview of the Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice (DISHA) Scheme. Shri Niraj Kumar Gayagi, Joint Secretary, elaborated on the components of DISHA, underscoring its pivotal role in fostering a more inclusive and equitable legal system. The session was adeptly moderated by Shri B. Chandra Mohiyar, Director, A2J, ensuring a balanced and engaging exchange of ideas. The webinar witnessed active participation from stakeholders across Tele-Law, Nyaya Bandhu, and Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness programs. Distinguished Central project officers and venerable district judges imparted their invaluable insights and experiences, enriching the discourse with their profound expertise. Additionally, eminent speakers and respected lawyers from the bar side graced the event, offering their unique perspectives and contributing to a holistic understanding of the subject matter. This highly informative session proved instrumental in elucidating the myriad challenges faced by the legal system and in celebrating the remarkable strides made in leveraging technology for greater efficiency.

Accelerating Justice through Fast Track Special Courts! The second technical session covered best practices and innovations being implemented in the Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs) Scheme along with the judicial insights and procedural innovations. The Webinar also explored the role of civil societies, and suggested ways to strengthen capacity-building and monitoring mechanisms, emphasizing the crucial role of civil society Organizations. The Speakers of the Session were Ms. Poonam Durgan, Judicial Officer at Special POCSO Court, Dausa, Rajasthan; Ms. Shreya Arora Mehta, OSD/NALSA; Adv. Vaishali Deshpande and Ms. Sunitha Krishnan, Padma Shri Awardee, Chief Functionary and Co-founder of Prajwala (NGO). The meeting was attended by officials of State Govt., concerned High Courts, Lawyers, Civil Society Organizations, Academicians and Students.

Future Prospects of Judicial Infrastructure Explored! The first technical session of the one-day webinar on budget outlays under various CS/CSS of the Department of Justice, started with an overview of Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Judicial Infrastructure highlighting the budget outgo along with the fund flow mechanism, its constraints, the way forward, as well as the new SNA-SPARSH system of just in time release and monitoring via Nyaya Vikas Portal. The webinar also featured a spirited interactive session and witnessed expert interventions from India Justice Project, ISRO, PFMS, Registrar Generals of High Courts, and other Senior Officers from the state machinery. #CSS #Webinar2024-25
