When I founded Comic Con India in 2011, I was driven by a passion for comics and the community around it. I never expected it to grow in to the amazing experience it is now, attracting lacs of fans each year. Over the past decade, Comic Con India has grown beyond just being an event. It has become a platform for celebrating creativity, fostering a sense of community, and showcasing the incredible talent within the Indian pop culture scene. Throughout this incredible journey, one of the biggest challenges I faced was finding the right balance between keeping it a purely creative venture and making the event commercially viable. It was a constant juggling act between curating an authentic experience for fans and securing sponsorships, partnerships, and ticket sales. But to be honest, one of my greatest joys has been witnessing the connections and friendships forged within the Comic Con India community. It's a space where fans can come together, celebrate their shared passions, and find a sense of belonging. From comic book artists and illustrators to cosplayers and gamers, we end up being a platform so many creators to come together. Comic Con India taught me that the key to strike a balance between creativity and commercial viability is in understanding your audience, staying connected to the community, and being transparent about your vision. It's about finding ways to monetize without compromising the integrity of the experience.
