About us
BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) are a joint venture between Reliance Infrastructure Limited and Govt of NCT of Delhi with a 51%:49% shareholding. BSES discoms, together, supply electricity to two-thirds of the national capital. Spread across a geographical area of around 950 sq kms, the company supplies reliable electricity to over 4.2 million consumers, covering a population base of over 10.6 million in South, West Delhi, East and Central Delhi. Since inception, BSES has taken a lead in adopting the best in class technologies and successfully brought down the losses from more than 55 % in 2002 (at the time of privatization) to the current level of below 9% - a reduction of over 45%. Today, BSES operates and manages one of the most advanced distribution networks in India to deliver reliable and quality electric supply to customers spread across its service territory. To achieve this objective, BSES has invested over Rs 8000 crore to upgrade and modernise the distribution network. BSES continues to maintain its leadership position with a proven track record of nearly 18 years in the realms of innovative technology, sustainability, world-class safety processes and a customer centric approach. BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL), in collaboration with the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and Give Me Trees Trust, launched a mammoth tree plantation drive today, aiming to foster environmental conservation, promote a sustainable future, and enhance community involvement. The event saw participation from senior dignitaries, including BYPL CEO, Mr. Amarjeet Singh, Chairman of NHAI, Mr. Santosh Kumar Yadav, IAS, Project Director Mr. Dhiraj Singh, and Managing Trustee of Give Me Trees Trust, Mr. Prem Parivartan (Peepal Baba). This ambitious initiative will see the planting of 13,250 saplings at two strategic locations beneath NHAI flyovers at Gazipur and Anand Vihar. The drive commenced with the planting of 200 saplings today, with the remaining to be completed over the next three months. During the launch event, the NHAI Chairman addressed the gathering virtually, emphasizing the project's significance. BYPL CEO Mr. Amarjeet Singh, also addressed the gathering, underscoring the critical role of green initiatives in promoting a healthier and more sustainable environment. This collaboration between BYPL, NHAI, and Give Me Trees Trust highlights their shared commitment to enhancing Delhi’s green cover and ecological balance, paving the way for a greener, more sustainable future.
