From our #equityresearch desk:- Electric two-wheeler (e-2W) penetration plateaued after reduction in FAME-2 incentives. But our analysts, Jinesh Gandhi, Rohit Bajaj and Raghvendra Goyal, see early signs of pick-up in electric vehicle (#EV) adoption led by recent launches of affordable e-2W models. e-2W penetration increased to 6.8% in Jul’24 from average 5% for 12 months before and after FAME-2 reduction. On the other hand, electric passenger vehicle (e-PV) penetration is stuck at 2.2-2.4% since Mar’23 despite launch of more affordable Punch.ev. Our analysts believe e-PV adoption is constrained by lack of: a) wider product offerings, and b) charging infra. They expect e-2W to have better penetration than the e-PV going ahead. #Acumenatwork

From our #equityresearch desk:- With ~35msf leasing in top-8 cities, commercial real estate (RE) hit a decadal peak in 1HCY24. Our analysts, Karan Khanna, CFA and Saksham Mongia’s analysis suggest that vacancy level declined from 17.2% in 1HCY21 to 15.4% in 1HCY24 (2HCY19: ~13.1%), indicating strong leasing momentum. Demand was driven by Indian clients (41%), flexible workspace (28%), global capability centers (GCCs; 21%) and IT (10%). Bengaluru was leasing frontrunner, followed by Mumbai and NCR, whilst Chennai recorded 9% YoY annual rental escalation. Other cities posted increase of 4-7%. Encouraged by leasing upswing, RE developers continue to expand their commercial portfolios to capitalize on growing demand and mitigate risks associated with residential RE moderation. #Acumenatwork
