On 21st June, International Yoga Day, we sat with Sonakshi Dhamija, yoga enthusiast and founder of the yoga studio The Shala Delhi. Adisee has been a mindful and conscious brand since inception and we are grateful to speak with people from our community who are leading a mindful life. In this video Sonakshi takes us through her journey of establishing her Yoga Studio and how Yoga has helped her being mindful in all aspects of her life, including shopping. Growing up in the 90s, whenever I heard someone talk about handbags, international brands were the ones that came up or the high praise of Italian leather came up. There were no aspirational or designer names from India for accessories. Maybe that was the case with all sectors, there was high praise and desire for all things foreign, Italian leather, Italian marble, Swiss chocolate, French wine so on and so forth. Even Indian brands were branding themselves as Italian to capitalize on the allure of Italian craftsmanship. Maybe the idea of “branded luxury” goods was a fairly new one for us and we weren’t able to see the beauty in "designed in India" or "made in India". India was always associated with being a manufacturing hub rather than a country to aspire to for design, fashion or luxury. The idea of ADISEE was an answer to all those conversations praising luxury handbags brands and raving about Italian leather. Adisee being designed and made in India, the idea is to present the skilled Indian craftsmanship and quality to the world. #founderstories #entrepreneurship #startup
