Episode 87: Female Fight Squad

This month we’re chatting the 2016 fighting flick, Female Fight Squad! In this one, martial arts and stunt sensation Amy Johnston takes the lead as Becca, a fighter who begrudgingly enters an underground fighting tournament in order to save her estranged sister! Dolph Lundgren takes on a supporting role as Holt, the girls’ wrongly imprisoned father who lends his fatherly words of wisdom to his two badass daughters as he sits behind bars! Joining me to chat this one is the elusive action movie scholar — Vern, author of the books, Seagalogy (the ultimate Steven Seagal filmography analysis), Niketown, and Worm on a Hook! What kind of martial arts prowess and presence does Amy Johnston bring to this film? In a film about fighting, why is there so little of it? And what does Dolph bring to what is essentially a cameo role? Listen in as Vern and I get ready to throw down and enlist in the Female Fight Squad!
