About the Team
Final continuously applies algo-based high frequency trading through a state-of-the-art operation around the world. To do that we undertake operational, market and several other risks. Our success depends critically on understanding, quantifying and mitigating those risks.
The team manages all aspects of Final’s risk: ad-hoc tackling of events, enhancing our capabilities and tools, multi-year road map execution, and much more. The dynamic nature of financial markets ensures perpetual mental stimulation.
About the Role
We are looking for a data scientist to join our risk team. We seek a professional with superb analytical skills, sincere interest in finance and markets, vigorous intellectual curiosity, a knack to find practical solutions to real-world problems, thorough knowledge of statistics, and the desire to work independently and drive projects from idea to completion.
Responsibilities include:
Analyzing complex data sets, seeing beyond numbers, and helping inform, improve and execute clever business decisions.
Handling end-to-end analyses: defining the question, gathering the data, suggesting solutions, researching, drawing relevant conclusions and presenting actionable recommendations
Partnering with the Risk, Operations Research, Algo and Trading teams
Performing ad-hoc in-depth analyses of our implementation and execution
Constructing scripts, dashboards, and metrics to monitor performance and detect anomalies
Keeping our data sources complete, precise and reliable
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent
Roughly 3-6 years of experience as a data analyst
Outstanding analytical & technical skills and a passion for data
Advanced SQL with experience in querying large and complex data sets. Experience in one or more programming language, preferably Python
Effective team player
Solid communication skills
