Israeli construction tech startup Buildots has unveiled a new AI tool that predicts potential risks that could delay a project and alerts managers to pacing issues before they escalate. The Tel Aviv and London-based startup says its Delay Forecast platform also provides in-depth insights into the causes for delays, boosting efficiency and decision-making processes. Wrapping up a very busy Q2 for Iron Nation, and seems overall in #StartupNation! Although the data is preliminary, indications are to a slight rise in investment and M&A volumes across all tech sectors and funding rounds. Having said that, the pain continues for non-cyber and early-stage startups, especially for A rounds ( 🙏 comment below if you agree/disagree...) I found a couple of bright spots to share: 👏 GenAI - A lot has been said about Israel coming late to AI infrastructure, but still good to see that in quick moving segments like GenAI we rank 3rd. 👏 Ecosystem - According to Startup Genome Tel Aviv's startup ecosystem moved up to 4th place in the world, and StartupBlink ranked Israel 1st with 11 R&D branches of multinationals (Microsoft, Nvidia, IBM, SAP, Oracle, Intel...) https://lnkd.in/dW_YGkws

Elron Ventures is a $90 million corporation that makes investments in early-stage Israeli software, cybersecurity, and medical device #startups. Discount Investment Corporation Ltd., an Israeli holding company, has informed the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange - הבורסה לניירות ערך that it is in negotiations to sell all of its shares in Elron Ventures to a foreign venture capital firm. Veteran Israeli venture capital firm Elron Ventures makes early-stage investments in software, cybersecurity, and medical device firms. According to Discount #Investment, if a deal is reached, it will sell the foreign venture capital fund its 59.14% ownership in Elron for $48.5–$53.2 million, which reflects a $82-$90 million firm valuation. Discount Investment, which is led by Michael and Daniel Salkind's Elco and by Zahi Nahmias through Mega Or Holdings, stated that the range of the purchase value was based on the assumptions that Elron and its subsidiary RDC Rafael's current cash levels would not significantly decline, and that their debt and working #capital levels would essentially remain unchanged in comparison to their current circumstances. However, the valuation will be changed in accordance with any dividends that Elron distributes. Simultaneously, Elron said this morning that the court had granted its motion to pay out a $35 million dividend. The top three startup ecosystems in the world have maintained the same positions since 2020. SILICON VALLEY remains at the TOP, followed by NEW YORK CITY and LONDON tied in 2nd place, according to the Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2024 published by Startup Genome. Other findings: 💡 TEL AVIV moved up one place and is now tied with Los Angeles in 4th place. 💡 TOKYO entered the Top 10 for the first time, moving UP 5 PLACES to 10th in 2024 from 15th in 2023. 💡 SEOUL moved UP THREE PLACES to rank 9th in 2024. 💡 The top two Chinese ecosystems have DROPPED in the overall rankings: BEIJING by one place and SHANGHAI by two from 2023, now ranking 8th and 11th respectively in 2024. However, SHENZHEN has shown impressive growth, moving UP SEVEN PLACES to rank 28th in 2024. The Top 40 global startup ecosystems ranked in the report are more mature than other ecosystems globally, featuring more large exits (valued at over $50 million) and more funding activity. Combining Software with Medicine: An Israeli Startup Raised $10 Million Remepy, an Israeli startup which elaborates its solution that combines digital interventions and treatment protocols tailored to each medical condition and its corresponding drug, closed a $10 million seed investment round, that was led by NFX, joined by Vine Ventures, PsyMed Ventures, Supernode Ventures and Firstime Ventures, and others. Remepy is enhancing the effectiveness of traditional drugs by standardizing and personalizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to trigger physiological effects. “We are using digital tools in order to harness the brain to drive physiological effects that are synergistic with drugs,” explains Tsur. A Tel Aviv startup is applying the practices of Israeli healthcare to the US, with the objective of reducing poor cohesion within the American system, making it more accessible and bringing down costs for users. A lack of universal healthcare in the US, unlike most of the world, means that Americans must themselves navigate between healthcare providers such as doctors and hospitals, and the insurance companies who take care of the medical costs of its payees.
