About us
Our cities are covered with cameras, collecting millions of hours of footage every day. As a result of the overwhelming quantities of data produced, crime prevention forces are unable to identify the relevant parts of footage and to detect crimes as they appear on camera. This leads to: - Loss of critical moments on scene - Dependence on observers to alert police or security - Cost inefficiencies We are developing an algorithm which will leverage deep learning and computer vision technologies in order to detect automatically when criminal events are shown on screen. Surveillance camera technology is currently greatly under-utilised as it relies on human monitoring of the screens and this is almost impossible in practice on the vast scale of a modern city. Our technology will enable selection of the most relevant surveillance camera data footage, so that observers can be immediately directed to criminal events in real time. This will streamline the allocation of security services, speed up response times, lessen dependency on emergency calls by the public, and be more effective in cost and in crime prevention.
