So proud to have Eyal Waldman on Airis Labs’ board. We are very thankful for your continuous support and trust!
From my point of view, Eyal Waldman represents the essence of what it means to be an #Israeli: where others see a distortion - he sees the necessary solution and works to achieve it by putting himself at the forefront of the action. He’s in a unique position as one that built himself from the ground up, and mainly known as the captain of one of the largest exits in #Israel - the sale of Mellanox Technologies to NVIDIA at a $7 billion value (deal completed in April 2020), after managing it as #chairman, #president and #CEO for about two decades. He was awarded with the ‘Israel Prize’ for #Entrepreneurship and #TechnologicalInnovation for #2024 In light of what the award committee defined as "his extraordinary work in entrepreneurship and technological innovation at the highest #global level that resulted in an #economic, #strategic, #social and value contribution to the State of Israel over decades and on an unprecedented scale." Sadly, he had the misfortune to feel the other end of the Israeli pendulum as well, with the loss of his daughter Danielle Waldman and her partner Noam Shai, who were murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7 at the '#Nova' festival for #peace. Danielle was only 24 years old. Everyone who knew her describes a lively personality, who was all about giving. Her parents, Eyal and Ella, founded an association that will continue her giving, called: ‘Doing Good in the Memory of Danielle. Like many Israelis who enter the cycle of #bereavement - nothing prepares you for the loss. But try to imagine the strength required to rise up from it and start acting to change reality, so that no one else will experience the pain you experienced. I had the privilege of trying to steer a conversation with one I see as an Israeli example, at the 'Breaking Through Cooperation's' event held this week at Tel Aviv University. Whether you agree with some of Waldman’s #thoughts and #insights or not, he’s a man worth listening to. The event was conducted by Sigalit Ben Hayoun. Pictures from it were taken by Shay Fireshtein (שי פיירשטיין).

👋 Stanford University has recently released the "AI Index Report for 2024", which contains some interesting data related to Israel's position in the field of AI. 👉 First, #Israel leads globally in the concentration of human capital with #AI skills, but there is a negative trend of human capital emigration from Israel in this field. 👩💻 Second, the report shows that men acquire more AI skills than women, but the status of women in Israel is relatively good compared to other countries in the world. 💰 In terms of AI entrepreneurship, the report reveals that in 2023, 43 new AI companies in Israel received #funding, compared to nearly 900 in the United States. The United States maintains a lead over other countries in the AI race, with Israel ranking fourth in the number of new AI companies funded between 2013 and 2023 (442 companies). 💸 Furthermore, the report asks whether investments in #artificial #intelligence in Israel are sufficient to keep the country competitive globally. In 2023, Israel ranked eighth in the world in terms of private investment in AI, totaling $1.5 billion. However, over the past decade, Israel ranks fourth globally with investments close to $13 billion in AI companies. 🧠 When it comes to developing #machine #learning models, the United States leads the way, but Israel holds a respectable position relative to its size. However, when examining models used for #GenerativeAI capabilities, Israel's position is slightly less favorable. 💡 Finally, the report concludes that artificial intelligence has the potential to significantly improve productivity in Israel in the near future.
