City Finances
Your Money, Your City
The City Finances dashboards allow users to dive into the City’s budget to understand how appropriations impact public transportation, housing, City planning, and more.
Users can also explore the influence of Tax Increment Financing (TIF) on new projects. A TIF district is an area of Chicago in which a portion of property taxes from the district are reserved for redevelopment projects within the district. The Chicago Department of Planning and Development provides a detailed description of the TIF program.
