🏐 Introducing #LidlShootToSave 🏐 We are continuing our #GetBehindTheFight campaign with an innovative TikTok social discount offer, harnessing the power of social media to not only drive attendance at Ladies Gaelic Football fixtures but also increase the visibility of female sport online. Pledging an investment of €50,000 into shopper discounts, attendees who post on-field action on TikTok from any of the knock-out games across the Senior, Intermediate and Junior Championships and tag @LidlIreland on TikTok using #LidlShootToSave, can earn a discount of up to €20 on their next shop through their Lidl Plus app in any of Lidl’s 179 stores around the country.  This campaign taps into our #GetBehindTheFight research findings which show that 42% of Irish people who are interested in attending female sports events seek out information on fixtures through social media, whilst 36% rely on friends and family. Tickets to attend 2024 TG4 LGFA Championship matches are available via the host county boards which can be accessed via www.lidl.ie/tickets or via the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) website www.ladiesgaelic.ie We hope to see you there showing your #SeriousSupport 🙌

Since its launch in 2017, Lidl has invested €30 million in supporting over 250 Irish businesses through its innovative Kickstart Supplier Development Programme. Today, we’re delighted to announce our pick of the crop for 2024 which sees 48 Irish suppliers from 20 counties secure a coveted place on the programme and reserve a place for 112 new Kickstart products on Lidl’s shelves. Following a competitive Dragon’s Den style pitch process to find this year’s most innovative products, suppliers were selected after an intensive application process which saw producers put through their paces with a business pitch to Lidl’s buying team and a taste test to select the best in category. Successful producers will now see their artisan offerings on sale on Lidl shelves across its 220 stores across the island of Ireland from September 19th for a limited time, while stocks last. Now in its eighth year, and supported by Bord Bia - The Irish Food Board, this year’s programme saw a record number of applicants from every province in Ireland. From high quality convenience foods, fish and meat, to beauty, baking, ice cream, condiments and beers – as well as the programme’s first ever pet food item – this year’s assortment will have something for everyone, with a marked focus on unveiling some of Ireland’s best circular economy products to offer more sustainable choice for customers. Before the products hit the shelves, this six-month development programme offers suppliers dedicated business support from Lidl’s in-house experts, advancing their product, brand and business with practical guidance on how to scale production, drive production efficiency, as well as product development and packaging support, allowing them to optimise on-shelf opportunities in the Autumn and scale for success. Take a look at our video which provides a flavour of the Kickstart programme and what’s to come for these suppliers as we support them on their development journey ahead of listing their amazing artisan products in all 220 Lidl stores across the island of Ireland this September. Introducing our first ever own brand and Irish made premium skincare range, Ár Ocean 🌊 In an exclusive new local supplier partnership with Mayo-based ULTRAPURE Laboratories Ltd valued at €1 million, four permanently listed Ár Ocean skincare products are now available across all 220 Lidl stores in the island of Ireland. Our ambition for this collection was to provide customers with a quality, premium product at a low cost. Ár Ocean delivers on that ambition, harnessing the nourishing properties of sea minerals and Irish moss cultivated from the Atlantic to provide a nutrient-rich, moisturising and luxurious skincare collection with prices starting at just €3.49. And the results speak for themselves - in a recent consumer research study, 94% of respondents said they would recommend Ár Ocean products to a friend, 96% of respondents saying they were satisfied with the products and a further 90% of panellists said they would continue using the products after the initial trial period. The new cosmetics deal comes as we released our latest Supplier and Business Partner Impact Report earlier this year, announcing that we’ve procured more than €1.6 billion worth of goods and services from Irish suppliers and business partners in 2023, with more than €300 million exported internationally through our expansive network of stores showcasing the best of Irish produce on the global stage. #ÁrOcean #IrishSuppliers #SupportingLocal

Today, we celebrate #WorldEnvironmentDay 🌐 As a food retailer, we rely on the health of our ecosystems and environment. By tackling deforestation and land conversion, we aim to make a positive contribution to protecting the climate, sustainable sourcing, and upholding human rights. That’s why at Lidl Ireland, we are committed to operating our business responsibly at every stage of our value chain: 🌳 By the end of 2025, we are committed to sourcing from supply chains that are free from deforestation, land conversion and exploitation. 🌊 We require our suppliers in high-water risk areas to adopt good water practices which are aligned to GLOBAL G.A.P. Spring, Rainforest Alliance or Fairtrade to ensure water handled in the production process is handled in a sustainable manner. 🐝 Together with GLOBAL G.A.P. and other partner organisations, Lidl Group developed an industry first additional module for more biodiversity in conventional fruit and vegetable cultivation in 2021 and 2022- which 250 producers are now certified to. 🗑 Zero waste to landfill 👚 We require all of our cotton to be certified to the Cotton made in Africa (CmiA) or the Global Organic Textile Standard. These are just a number of the measures we implement to ensure sustainable management across our supply chain. For more information on our Purchasing Policy for Supply Chains free from Deforestation and Land Conversion, please visit https://lnkd.in/eQ5EgKjM #ABetterTomorrow #WorldEnvironmentDay #GenerationRestoration

After an incredible six years, it’s with a heavy heart that we say a fond farewell to our charity partner, Jigsaw - The National Centre for Youth Mental Health. Whilst the hugely successful partnership has come to an end, we are pleased to announce that, together with our customers, we have raised a staggering €3 million in funding to ensure this vital charity continues to deliver for young people in need across Ireland. This was all made possible through the sustained, committed efforts of Lidl employees in every store, warehouse and office across the country and the generosity and support of our valued customers and we’d like to thank each and every person who helped us reach this fundraising milestone. More than that, this partnership delivered immeasurable value beyond fundraising. From increasing awareness for the charity and driving service users to this vital resource to prompting change within our own organisation where we have built a culture of openness, acceptance and support to engage and empower our employees to all become mental health advocates for themselves and their families and loved ones. As a family retailer, we are deeply committed to supporting the communities in which we serve. This partnership has been extraordinary and in working with Jigsaw to address key issues in youth mental health, we have delivered such profoundly impactful programmes which have empowered all Irish adults to support and encourage the young people in their lives to seek help when needed. We wish Jigsaw every success for the future. #WeAreLidl

🌳 Celebrating World Biodiversity Day 🌳   At Lidl, we are passionate about protecting and promoting biodiversity across our supply chain and operations not just today, but every day.   As biodiversity decline continues, we recognise our important role as a retailer in promoting protective measures for biodiversity and preserving natural resources.   - As proud members of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan, we currently have more than 30 pollinator-friendly stores - and counting! These stores feature reduced mowing, native trees and hedgerows and pollinator-friendly planting to support pollinators such as bees and butterflies   - Approximately 50 tonnes of plastic have been prevented from entering the ocean every year through the use of Prevented Ocean Plastic in the packaging of a number of our product lines.   - Our bee friendly logo was created to help our customers to identify pollinator friendly plants and flowers.   - We require 100% of our fruit and vegetable suppliers to be certified to Global G.A.P. or equivalent.   - We require 100% of our wood products to be certified to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) or coming from recycled wood sources.   To support biodiversity within your business or at home, find more information at https://pollinators.ie/ #WorldBiodiversityDay2024 #Biodiversity #Sustainability #LidlIreland
