The COVID-19 pandemic exposed many health systems challenges and the need to approach health and social care and service provision from a population health management perspective. Led by Dr Olga Cleary, this is fundamental to the Population Health Management module on the MSc. Health intelligence and analytical approaches are crucial to this, with training in this area led by Dr Paul Kavanagh. Olga and Paul bring a rare and unique set of skills and experiences together in the delivery of this module, as both are highly skilled researchers – and valued colleagues - applying their knowledge directly within the health system. Having previously worked as the Business Manager and Research Lead in South East Community Healthcare HSE Health & Wellbeing, Olga Cleary is currently a Senior Research and Development Manager, National HSE Research and Development. Olga is also a PhD alumni and is Adjunct Assistant Professor of the Centre for Health Policy and Management. Paul is currently a Consultant in Public Health Medicine in the Health Service Executive, having previously held the role of Specialist in Public Health Medicine at the National Health Intelligence Unit, Health Service Executive. Paul has been closely involved in research with colleagues at the Centre for Health Policy and Management over the years, where he also holds an Adjunct Associate Professor position.
