Today is #ShowYourStripesDay! 🌍   Today, we're standing with millions around the globe in raising awareness about climate change and its impact on our planet. The iconic warming stripes, designed by climate scientist Ed Hawkins, visually demonstrate the reality of global warming and climate change, and our need to advocate a more sustainable future.   As a business, we have launched our Second Nature ESG strategy, a testament to our unwavering commitment to sustainability. This strategy not only guides our actions but also drives us to make significant changes in our business operations.   It's not just about words, it's about measurable action. As part of WSH, our near-term, net zero and FLAG targets were approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), aligning with SBTi requirements and our own agreed reduction targets, delivering both short-term and long-term impact.   Showing our stripes and impact, we are delighted to share that progress was strong towards our emissions reduction targets in 2023 with an absolute reduction of BaxterStorey UK's carbon footprint of 5,071 tCO2e vs 2022.   BaxterStorey UK's total scope 3 inventory has shown a fantastic decrease in terms of GHG emissions for £ of value added by 25.87%, even with substantial business growth last year. This is a clear indication that our efforts are producing positive results.   While only a minor part of our total carbon footprint, the decrease in scope 1 and 2 inventory by 6.51 tCO2e is a significant achievement. This reduction reflects our programme to transition away from natural gas, and our commitment towards a fully electric company fleet; moves that align with our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and using cleaner energy sources.
