🏥 Handover of New MRI Facilities to Wexford General Hospital 🏥 Tom O’Brien Construction were delighted to recently deliver a new suite of MRI facilities to Wexford General Hospital. Working to a severely tight programme, practical completion was achieved after approximately only 3 months on site from start to finish. Tom O’Brien Construction also oversaw a highly technical and complex enabling works package, including the remodeling of existing services and the establishment of new underground services & utilities along with the creation of new accessways about the new MRI Suite. Further to the new MRI Suite, new reception & waiting areas and office spaces were also provided along with the construction of a new link corridor tied back into to the Main Hospital Building. We are proud to have acted as Main Contractors for our long-time Clients in the HSE on this important project in Wexford General Hospital, working in conjunction with specialists Alliance Medical Diagnostic Imaging Ltd. Our thanks to the Design Team for their collaboration on these works including RKD Architects, Varming Consulting Engineers Ltd., John Britton Consulting Engineers and Coughlan DeKeyser Architects. ⭐ Exciting News ⭐ The Bon Secours Diagnostic Imaging Department Limerick @ Barringtons received a 5 Star premium Eurosafe Imaging Star Award from the European Society of Radiology in July of this year. The department was reviewed under the following criteria: - Optimisation - Justification  - Quality and Safety - Education - Research - Regulatory compliance   There was a comprehensive review of our Radiation Safety Policy, Local Dose Reference Levels (DRLs), Local CT protocols, Quality Assurance Program, Imaging Referral Guideline Resources for Referrers, Patient Information & Clinical Audits.    Speaking on behalf of the team, the Unit Manager said: "The receipt of this award is a recognition of the high quality CT service that we provide for our patients and referrers in BSDI Limerick @Barringtons. It highlights the excellent work that is being carried out on a daily basis in the CT department by our multidisciplinary team of Radiographers, Radiologists, Radiographer Assistants and Administration that I witness on the ground consistently." https://lnkd.in/eXmzDQVZ
