Last week, we secured a great new project, bolstering our extensive experience in the revitalization of hydropower plants. We are honoured to be part of a consortium, with Romanian company Electromontaj S.A., dedicated to the EUR 188 million revitalization project for Vidraru hydropower plant in Romania, with a capacity of 4 x 67.3 MVA. Our customer is S.P.E.E.H. Hidroelectrica, the largest power generation company in Romania. KONČAR’s share of the project is nearly EUR 80 million. Did you know that the development of electronics in KONČAR began 75 years ago, with the development of mercury rectifier valves in 1949? It was the production of mercury valves and plants related to rectifiers that enabled KONČAR to conquer a large part of the Yugoslav market in the field of power electronics from 1961 to 1991, first in mercury and then in semiconductor technology.
