Erik Slater: Noah Clowney on the Mikal Bridges trade: “It’s an opportunity for me. No shade to him, that’s my dawg, I love him, but to see us going into more of a rebuild, that’s an amazing opportunity for me, and I gotta try to take advantage of that.” pic.twitter.com/Z8Xu4Yssb3
Brian Lewis: Noah Clowney on Bridges trade & #Nets pivot: “I feel like Mikal should feel proud in the sense to get traded for 5 first round picks is superstar level…But this is opportunity to me…to see us going into more of a rebuilding standpoint, that’s an amazing opportunity to me.” pic.twitter.com/5WGPvgujQU
Erik Slater: Noah Clowney’s reaction to Nic Claxton re-signing with the Nets: “That’s great. We want Clax back. I think us on the court together, we’ve shown that we can do a little bit, and we have room to improve and be really good together. So I was excited to see him sign.” pic.twitter.com/PmsmvaekBd

Noah Clowney making Day'Ron Sharpe or Dorian Finney-Smith more expendable?

Brian Lewis: He’ll be in Vegas playing Summer League. I’m interested in how Clowney impacts their plans for other people. You have Cam Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Day’Ron Sharpe. Before, you had two guys splitting the power forward spot and a backup center before Noah forced his way into the rotation. Day’Ron is a young and cheap asset. Dorian is a 30-year-old who’s good in the locker room, tough, and can make winning plays. He’s under contract next year and has a player option after that. That’s the kind of guy that belongs on a contender and who you’d think would give you something for him. I’m interested in seeing whether Noah’s rapid development forces them to take a look at one of those three guys and move one of them to make room for him. Michael Scotto: Noah Clowney had a heck of an end to the season for the Nets, and he’s been called the golden child I’ve heard from a few people. The Nets view Clowney as a power forward and a small ball five alongside Nic Claxton, I’m told.
Erik Slater: Asked Nic Claxton about the upside of him and Noah Clowney as a frontcourt pairing: “The league is not all about small-ball anymore. You see a lot of teams that have two bigs on the court, they have more size on the court, and that’s an area that we’ve really lacked in the past. So maybe that’ll be something that can fix those problems.” pic.twitter.com/mZVSk8NA2z

Dennis Schroder added 24 points and six assists, and 19-year-old rookie Noah Clowney had a second straight strong performance with 17 points and six boards off the bench. Interim coach Kevin Ollie has stressed there is plenty to play for. “Yeah, they just kept hunting, they kept hunting, hunting, hunting. And we weren’t finding anything to eat the first three quarters, but they just kept going out there. And then we finally found a pace that we wanted on defense and offense,” Ollie said. “So it’s just hunting season, and we’re not finished yet. We just want to keep hunting until the last seconds run out on the season.

Erik Slater: Noah Clowney when asked if he ever thought about being just 19-years-old during his last two performances: “No. We’re all on the court, we’re all at this level for a reason. So I feel like I don’t really look at nobody as better than me. I mean, obviously players that have done more, proven more, who are better than me, actually, but I’m not gonna go in there with the mindset of that. So I feel like we’re all equals out there when I’m out there.” pic.twitter.com/pM6f6nRK16
