In May 2021, the UGA Honors Program was named the Jere W. Morehead Honors College, elevating UGA’s national and international stature to new heights and enabling us to remain competitive in recruiting the best and brightest from Georgia and beyond.

The recent establishment of the Jere W. Morehead Honors College provides a permanent and stable foundation for the critical programs that set UGA Honors apart: undergraduate research, study abroad, and competitive internships. At its core, the Morehead Honors College is a community, a spring board, and a resource for students to surpass their expectations and achieve the exceptional.

Since 1960, we have inspired students to meet and exceed their dreams while fostering educational, personal, and professional growth. We prepare students to answer the call of tomorrow, supporting them in their relentless pursuit to solve the grandest challenges of our state, nation, and world. We enhance the learning environment and expand the boundaries of what is possible at the University of Georgia. We equip students to become global leaders and innovators. We strive to make an Honors education accessible to those from all backgrounds.

None of this would be possible without the strong support of our Honors alumni, friends, parents, and donors. Each gift to the Jere W. Morehead Honors College enables our students to realize their full potential and commit to the promise of a better tomorrow.
