  • Let’s Explore the Broadcasting Industry Through RTHK! Students from 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 who are attending 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆'𝘀 summer programme paid a visit to RTHK to discover more about the broadcasting industry. During the tour, students learnt about RTHK's operations by observing the studio and control room. Moreover, RTHK's DJs and teammates from the News team provided the students with valuable insights into the local media industry through informative sharing sessions.   • Congratulations to all the winners of the first territory-wide secondary school competition "𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀"! This competition was jointly presented by 𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗞 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝟰 and the 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂 with the aim of promoting interest and understanding of music among school students. Since its launch in late March, this competition has received an enthusiastic response. The online heat competition attracted the participation of over 50 secondary schools, and more than 4,500 students. Five finalist schools were selected to compete on-site, and Wah Yan College Hong Kong emerged victorious and won the gold award, while Tuen Mun Government Secondary School and St. Stephen's Girls' College were awarded the silver and bronze awards respectively. The "Schools Music Appreciation Challenges" Final will air on RTHK Radio 4 on 20 Jul and on RTHK TV31 on 4 Aug. Stay tuned and give a round of applause to all the participating students.   • To celebrate the 27th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR, the China Media Group (CMG) and HKSAR jointly organized a grand ceremony, announcing that the documentary “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗼𝗻𝗴”, co-produced by CMG and RTHK, will have its first broadcast on 𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗞 𝗧𝗩𝟯𝟭 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗖𝗧𝗩-𝟵 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟭𝟭 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆. This launch ceremony marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between CMG and RTHK. Through multi-faceted cooperation with RTHK, CMG provides great support to HKSAR, such as landing several of its television and radio channels in Hong Kong through RTHK and providing many quality programmes to RTHK. The 10-episode documentary series titled "The Taste of Hong Kong" will tell the stories of Hong Kong through its delectable cuisine and the human touch behind it.   • Pioneering smart broadcasting, the 𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗞'𝘀 𝗔𝗜 𝗟𝗮𝗯, located in Kwun Tong, was officially launched in July. To keep up with new media operation trends, this #AILab has been equipped with a variety of AI software tools to enhance the efficiency of programme production.  At the same time, the AI Lab has also taken on the responsibility of promoting media education, providing young students with the opportunity to visit the facilities and learn about the integration of AI with television production.     【Student Putonghua Radio Drama School Tour 2024】 RTHK is committed to nurturing young talent through innovative educational initiatives. Recently, RTHK Putonghua Channel visited several primary schools, including Pooi To Primary School, Bishop Paschang Catholic School, and St. Peter's Catholic Primary School, to introduce students to the art of radio drama. These sessions provided a unique opportunity for students to develop their Putonghua skills and explore creative storytelling. Renowned singer Albert Chau joined us at Bishop Paschang Catholic School as a special guest. He engaged with 400 students in interactive storytelling activities, making the event both educational and memorable. RTHK Putonghua Channel will continue this initiative with more school visits around Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories, and Outlying Islands, bringing joy and learning to young students as they celebrate the summer holidays.     RTHK visited the 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗫𝗶𝗻𝗷𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝘆𝗴𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 today (27 June), having great opportunities to exchange with representatives from Xinjiang Radio and Television Station, as well as Xinjiang University and more. Last month, the central government expanded the Individual Visit Scheme to cover eight more cities, including #Urumqi in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. RTHK's visit discussed and explored collaboration in co-producing programmes related to the history and culture between Xinjiang and Hong Kong, in order to promote mutual tourism. A documentary featuring the lesser known stories of the national hero 𝗟𝗶𝗻 𝗭𝗲𝘅𝘂 in southern Xinjiang is targeted to be aired by 2025 to commemorate the 240th anniversary of his birth. Deputy Director of Broadcasting, Christine Wai, also attended the World Cities and International Communications forum, discussing international broadcasting issues with global media professionals. Leveraging Hong Kong's unique position as a bridge between the Mainland and the world, RTHK has actively partnered with Mainland media outlets.     Today (14 June) marks 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆, and at RTHK, we are pleased to stand united in supporting blood donation services.
