Heart lead singer Ann Wilson has revealed she is undergoing treatment for cancer, and the band have postponed all their remaining tour dates for 2024.

In a statement posted to her Instagram page, Wilson says she recently underwent an operation to “remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous”.

“The operation was successful and I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I’ve decided to do it,” she says. “And so my doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover.

“To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs. Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025. My team is getting those details sorted and we’ll let you know the plan as soon as we can.”

She adds, “This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing,” before concluding, “Respectfully, this is the last public statement I’d like to make on the matter.”

Heart’s planned Royal Flush 2024 tour would have seen the band make stops in 48 cities across the US and Canada.

It’s not immediately clear whether refunds for the tour will be available, as the dates are currently only marked as “postponed” on the band’s website.
