Hello Open Data Day community,

Congratulations to everyone! 🙌

I want to express the immense happiness we're feeling at the Open Knowledge Foundation, the Open Knowledge Network and our sponsoring partners. Together we have once again held a huge decentralised celebration of open data! We've put together a quick report with the main figures and statistics - this year, there were almost 300 events in 60 countries, using 15+ languages. Check out more data and details here

Our community is growing (this year alone 176 people have joined this google group). To seize the momentum and strengthen collaboration between us, next week OKFN will be holding debrief meetings to get together, share this year's experiences and start planning for 2025.

To try to cover the diversity of our group, there will be three calls in different time zones and languages. See which one fits you and register at the links below:

As well as getting to know each other and giving you a chance to get in direct contact with the OKFN team, we'll discuss things like:
  • Possible dates for ODD next year
  • How to improve our coordination and community support
  • Changes to the Open Data Day website
  • Sustainability/funding models
  • Any other feedback you have for us to do even better
Please make an effort to come! ♥️ Open Data Day only happens because of you. We want your voice to be truly heard at every stage of production.

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

All the best and have a great weekend,

Nothing to add here. Just that it is such a thrill to see all of this come together and a thank you to everyone at OKFN and around the world that put time and effort into this. Such an amazing outcome.

(Apologies to add another email to your inbox but hoping everyone is feeling good about what they accomplished).
