Join OSE and the City of Seattle at the Bloomberg Green Festival at Seattle Center from July 10th-13th With Discounted Tickets! 

Alongside world-renowned experts, the Bloomberg Climate Festival will engage attendees in solution-driven experiences around areas including sustainability, design, food, technology, and more. The City of Seattle will be well-represented at the festival with Mayor Bruce Harrell and OSE Director Jessyn Farrell serving big roles in the 2024 Bloomberg Green Champions program. Mayor Harrell will act  as the Chairman of the program while OSE Director Farrell will serve as a Green Champion. “Green Champions” are recognized as innovators and leaders who are creating new solutions to combat the climate crisis. Champions will showcase their work and collaborate with attendees at the festival. 

Here is a complete list of the events that OSE and the City of Seattle will participate in: 

  • Mayor Harrell will participate in a robust conversation around building a green workforce July 11th at 11:40 AM. 
  • OSE Director Jessyn Farrell will participate in the “Growing your career in climate” event July 11th at 5:30 PM.  
  • OSE Deputy Director Michelle Caufield will be a panelist for an invitational breakfast on “Mitigating Climate Risk in Your Operations” July 11th at 8 AM. 
  •  Seattle Public Utility’s Waste Diversion Planner Katie Kennedy will act as a panelist on “Town Hall: Solving Your Climate Vice” July 10th at 4:30 PM.  

The festival will also feature several prominent climate activists and politicians, including Washington Governor Jay Inslee and author, former Georgia House member, and voting rights activist Stacey Abrams. 

The festival will include several workshops on topics including transportation electrification, tree mulching, the intersection of climate action and AI, and more. The event will include a Restaurant and Bar Series from July 9th-12th, in which restaurants and bars will lead workshops, provide dinners, and host tastings for festivalgoers. The festival will also partner with TED Countdown to provide attendees with informative climate talks. Check out the full schedule at the festival’s website. 

Another exciting feature of the event is the Bloomberg Green Docs Film Competition. This contest promises a $25,000 prize to the film that best addresses the urgency of climate change in our world. The five finalist films will be shown at the festival, where a panel of judges will announce the winner of the competition.
