  • Automated Crack Detection in Concrete Structures (Using Deep Learning Techniques)

    We are solving the problem of automating crack detection on concrete structures and bridges using photographs taken with inspection drones. A paper is prepared to be submitted describing this solution.

    We are solving the problem of automating crack detection on concrete structures and bridges using photographs taken with inspection drones. A paper is prepared to be submitted describing this solution.

    The proposed solution is to apply a modified U-Net model to identify crack segments on the surface of concrete structures. The U-Net architecture was built upon a modified fully convolutional network and is paired with a decoder that yields the segmentation prediction. We have trained our model over the cloud using VM machines that utilized GPU Tesla V100 cards, over a sample of 11,200 color images.
