Knowbility: 25 Years of Digital Accessibility

Knowbility turned 25 years old on February 3, 2024 and you can help us celebrate more than two decades of active advocacy and accomplishments for digital inclusion!

In 1999, Internet adoption forever changed how we accessed education, employment, entertainment, and social and civic engagement. Knowbility's mission was – and remains – to ensure that people were not left out of participation in this social revolution due to disability.

Twenty five years later digital discrimination continues to marginalize disabled people and we need your help to address this challenge. We are recruiting teams of individuals – people like you who care about digital equity – to support the cause of digital inclusion.

In this spirited competition, teams will collaborate to raise funds in support of programs created and led by people with disabilities. Programs like AIR, AccessU, and AccessWorks raise issues of digital equity and provide leadership and resources to solve them. As fundraising participants, teams will not only contribute to a worthy cause but will also engage in friendly rivalry, competing against other teams to achieve outstanding results.

Prizes for fundraising achievement! We want you to know how much we value your help. In that spirit, all participating teams and individual donors will be featured on our online Wall of Accessibility Champions and be eligible to win prizes. We’ll be giving away tickets to the annual AccessU conference, a personalized training session with a resident accessibility expert, a custom designed usability study, coaching for accessibility certifications, and/or access to selected courses from our learning center.
