people widget dont work for Academic

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Install from Academic template
2. Follow https://wowchemy.com/docs/widget/people/
3. Add people link to menus.yaml

Expected behavior

At /people, overview of authors should appear. I see blank page only.

Have you seen the Research Group template ( https://wowchemy.com/hugo-themes/ )? It has an example of the People widget in use.

For me, the research-group has always been working, but I cannot use people widget in Academic (https://github.com/wowchemy/starter-hugo-academic) theme.

I am using starter-hugo-academic and I found a solution. Just copy and paste people folder from starter-hugo-research-group/content to your content folder. Then restart Hugo. It should solve your problem.

I think this solution that @cevenkadir suggested does not work anymore. This is 2024 and the same issue prevails. After comparing theme-academic-cv and theme-research-group, I think the issues come down to different imports that they are doing in config/_default/module.yaml

In short, the import that works for theme-research-group will not work for theme-academic-cv, and vice versa. It is frustrating to me that these two basic templates cannot be compatible. I am still looking for solutions.
