“Working with Jeffrey has been such a pleasant experience. I connected with Jeffrey on LinkedIn and I must admit his work ethic, eye for details and appreciation of the bigger picture is second to none. Jeffrey's approach to product design is user-focused and action-driven. He is one of the best designers I have worked with.”

What are the best ways to review and provide feedback on product design work?
In my experience, words play a critical role when giving feedback. You can have the right intentions however your choice of words might let you down. In addition to the words to avoid, don’t use ‘but’ after making a positive feedback. You can use ‘and’ or ‘however’. Eg. I like your solution A but I want us to go with solution B. As simple as this sentence is, the ‘but’ negates the first statement and focuses on the second. Let’s try again with a different word. I like your solution A however I want us to go with solution B Now tell me which one is more welcoming and forgiving? We should be intentional about our choice of words when it comes to design feedback and that can go a long way to foster a good relationship within the team.

What are the most common design mistakes when creating products for the elderly?
I agree We often fall into the trap where we think we understand our users because we are product designers and we know how they would interact with our product. Ignoring user research will eventually cost your company resources(i.e money and time) because you didn’t have enough insights on your users to understand how they go about their day to day, their limitations, which brings the topic of accessibility, and their mental model which would have helped your team to create a great user experience for them when interacting with your product.

The arrangement was done in such a way that students writing the same paper will not be seated close to each other (i.e. an island type of arrangement, where you are surrounded with students writing different papers).
The purpose of this project was to maximize the efficiency of scheduling and organizing an examination in the college of engineering and also minimizing cheating in the examination hall.
The project had three user interfaces
1. Student User Interface: For students to view the details of the examination (i.e. date and time, venue and seat position for each course).
2. Lecturer User Interface: For lecturers to check when and where their courses will be written.
3. Admin User Interface: This is where the scheduling of the various courses for the exams will take place.
