Space Rock is a subgenre of psychedelic rock and progressive rock which emerged in the late 1960s, which incorporated themes and imagery related to outer space with trippy, spacey, and atmospheric music. Like its parent genres, space rock can often involve long, jam-session-type songs, especially during live shows.

In the 1990s, along with the rise of neo-psychedelia, space rock experienced a small revival lead by bands like Spiritualized and Flying Saucer Attack.
