On this starry night in June, Red Velvet come across an unexpected miracle that they never knew they needed on the lead single, “Cosmic.” The single is a celebration for the group’s 10th anniversary from their debut in August 2014. Also, the song is the title track to their first 2024 release of the same name.

Built on a groovy fast-tempo bass, the song then elevates into an electrifying, bubbly dance-pop. The light summer sound compliments the groups amazing vocals as a whole. Explained by member JOY, in the track Red Velvet crash into an unknown universe and get captivated into a strangers heart. Throughout the rest of the song, Red Velvet question this confusing feeling, and choose to accompany this person till the end.

Surprisingly, the musical film for the single references both holiday and horror movie, Midsommar. In the ending set with a plain of grass, the group resembles the movie by putting on big flower crowns and dancing around a huge pole of flowers which flashes back to the rituals held in Midsommar.
