Kayaking Instruction with Georgia River Network

Georgia River Network offers kayaking and water safety classes for paddlers looking to increase their skills and maximize their fun on Georgia’s waterways. Georgia River Network hopes to help bridge the knowledge gap and empower paddlers enjoy the state’s waterways more safely and for many years to come.

REGISTRATION FOR ALL CLASSES WILL OPEN MARCH 1, 2024.

 

Course offerings:

  1. Intro to Kayaking (Lake)a half day, introductory class to get you more familiar with the features of your boat and paddle and give you more confidence on your adventures.
  2. Intro to River Kayaking (Class I)a full day class to introduce you to the skills, hazards and fun to be had on class I rivers!
  3. Intro to Kayak Fishing (Lake) — a half day class to help folks get started with kayak fishing
  4. Rescue for Rec Boaters — an entry-level safety and rescue class for paddlers who plan to paddle flat water lakes and slow moving rivers (one and two-day options available)
  5. Kayaking Instructor Certification Course — a 3-4 day class for paddlers interested in becoming ACA certified kayaking instructors who can teach paddlers on lakes and class I rivers (scholarships available Spring 2024).

Your class fees support Georgia River Network’s advocacy work for the Right to Float Georgia Rivers, to Save the Okenfenokee, and other intitiatives in support of the Georgia Water Coalition, the Georgia Outdoor Recreation Coalition, Georgia Water Trails and the Georgia River Guide free mobile app, and the Okefenokee Protection Alliance.

Georgia River Network is a 501(c)3 organization founded in 1998 to serve as the voice of Georgia’s rivers. GRN works to empower everyone to connect with, and advocate for economically vital and clean flowing rivers in Georgia. 

Georgia River Network is an ACA Paddle America Club.
