The cost of 3 Battery projects is costing Canadian taxpayers $$40+ billion dollars and creates foreign national jobs. Ridiculous costs to pretend these are green solutions. Who’s going to open the 250 plus mines to supply a broken Canadian supply chain to furnish these green initiatives with the raw materials needed. What’s the environmental impact of the mines. When these green energy projects are funded and become obsolete are they going to bury the unrecyclable waste? Obsolete solar panels and wind turbines are not recyclable now. When China uses dirty coal to build and export these environmentally friendly products it’s ok but the products end users have to dispose them. Go Green Go! Hypocrisy or new profit producing industries to make a select group Uber wealthy. Oh my!

No wonder Québec is seeing so many great new electric vehicle manufacturers innovate and compete on a global scale, check out the latest support package! The Quebec government is granting a maximum subsidy of $15.5 million to InnovÉÉ to support collaborative projects in the transportation electrification. This financial aid is part of the Plan for a Green Economy 2030, focusing on developing strategic sectors for energy transition in Quebec. It complements the $54.2 million already invested in collaborative projects between industry and research communities to combat climate change. The ministers emphasize the importance of electrifying transportation to achieve Quebec's goal of becoming the first carbon-neutral state in North America. InnovÉÉ, as a designated intermediary organization, plays a crucial role in fostering research collaborations and technological innovation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The subsidy aims to accelerate progress and support projects contributing to the transition towards a more sustainable energy future. While we should congratulate the participants of this important #hydroelectricproject serving the sustainable future of Ivory Coast as well as for all of us, we could continue to work further and convert this "édifice" to a real benchmark (a symbol) for a faster #Africaineconomicdevelopment, what we are thirsting for so much. 4 steps to to create a real benchmark for African continent efficient and complex green development, which triplicates both the income (profit) and also the #climatemitigation effect of the project: - upwards or downwards on the river starts building a 2nd dam and use the dams for REN storages including peak-shaving in cooperation with the country grid operator, - aggregate private and community PV owners on the lakes sides into a cooperative and store (manage) their energy supply as well as support the grid, - at last but not least start planting fast growing trees (eg.like Emerald tree) on the lakes sides to decrease evaporation (water loss) and increase local depression for stronger rainfalls. - make an overall CO2 accreditation of the project and issue green certificate for glabal trading Sunwo Plc (www.sunwo.eu) will be proud to share its experience on above issues. I am proud to recommend the above solution to Mr #AkinwumiAdesina president of the #AfricanDevelopmentBank (AfDB) with whom we met in Geneva on #CransMontanaForum last year. https://bit.ly/3VbkJlI

According to a report titled "E-Mobility in Low Income Countries in Africa," by Sustainable Mobility for All, only 48 percent of the African population has access to electricity, with a rural access rate of just 28 percent, compared to an urban access rate of 78 percent. As a result, some countries may not generate enough electricity to run electric vehicles (EVs). It is worth noting that African LICs contribute less than 1 percent of global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from transport.Transport-related CO2 emissions range from 17% in Chad to over 50% in Gambia. However, in absolute terms, this is low. In 2019, the total tons of transport-related CO2 emissions per capita was 0.05 in Burundi and the Central African Republic, compared to 0.66 in China and 5.53 in the United States. The low levels of emissions are due to low motorization levels. For example, Sudan and Ethiopia have less than 5 cars per 1,000 individuals (2015), compared to 826 cars per 1,000 individuals in the US. According to the report, eleven out of 23 African low-income countries (LICs) have shown their ambition to decarbonize the transport sector by setting targets in their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). #emobilityAfrica

Hey folks! CELCOR is on a mission to ensure sustainable development in Papua New Guinea. The Papua LNG project is on our radar, and we are urging financiers, especially ones that are funding the Papua LNG Project reconsider their support if the Company does not step up their game in environmental and climate safeguards. It is not about stopping development but ensuring that the development comes with responsible practices. CELCOR is making sure that Papua New Guinea lives up to its commitments under the Paris Agreement. It is about safeguarding the environment, biodiversity, climate, and, most importantly, the people. While the company might be throwing around terms like reforestation and REDD+, CELCOR isn't buying it as a solution to offset the CO2 emissions from the project. We are calling it 'greenwashing.' The imbalance is real, and CELCOR is fighting for a more sustainable approach. Check out the link below to dive deeper into the campaign and show your support! #SustainableDevelopment #EnvironmentalProtection #CELCORCampaign

✈𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Two major projects have been announced for the port of Le Havre. Leading by ENGIE, these projects, worth a total of one billion euros, will be dedicated to decarbonizing plants. They are expected to create 5,000 jobs during the construction phase, and between 150 and 200 jobs over the longer term. 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 This first project is the most advanced and aims to produce biomethane. Biomethane is a natural gas produced from agricultural inputs, sewage sludge and household waste. By 2027, some 𝟏𝟏,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐚𝐬 will be produced, representing the annual consumption of 10,000 households, according to HAROPA PORT. 𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐄𝐀𝐔𝐳𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 The second project involves the production of around 𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐬 for the aviation sector. According to Haropa, the fuel will be produced by combining renewable hydrogen and CO2 supplied by the Salamandre project and other local plants. These two projects are designed to further France's decarbonization policy. They will contribute to the France 2030 project, which aims to renew France's industrial sector. But combining the two projects to power the aviation sector could be a great opportunity for Normandy. 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 Normandy is one of France's largest aerospace regions. With sales of 4.1 billion euros, the region is home to numerous companies and research centers that contribute to innovation in this sector. All these companies are grouped together within NAE (Normandie AeroEspace), a competitiveness cluster that supports innovation and research in the sector. The aeronautics sector in a nutshell: ✅ 170 NAE cluster members ✅ 21,500 employees ✅ 160 companies ✅ 24 research laboratories Added to this is Normandy's determination to decarbonize as many of its companies as possible. More recently this year, Le Havre won the Low Carbon Industrial Zone award, which recognizes industrial zones that reduce their carbon emissions. You can find out more about this award on one of our previous LinkedIn posts: https://swll.to/C6IEi. With these two new projects, Le Havre reinforces its position as a low-carbon zone. If you're an aeronautical company looking to decarbonize your business, don't hesitate! Normandy and Le Havre will be delighted to welcome you and your low-carbon aeronautical project. #energytransition #netzero #choosenormandy Région Normandie ADNormandie

The country has had a tired paradigm of progress for 15 years, this is one of the conclusions of the #EconomicMemorandum published by the #WorldBank (WB). The financial institution also says that economic growth, despite being highly volatile, has enabled structural reforms and social and political stability. The document also compares Cabo Verde's performance with other Small Island Developing States (#SIDS). Second conclusion? #CaboVerde has a very low productivity compared to other island states. The WB memorandum – Navigating Rough Seas: Accelerating Growth and Fostering Resilience to Climate Change – divides the other Small Island States into structural pairs (Samoa, São Tomé and Príncipe and Vanuatu) and aspirational pairs (Mauritius, Seychelles, St. Kitts and Nevis and Saint Lucia). Structural peers are countries that share similar economic characteristics and endowments, while aspirational peers are countries that have managed to grow faster and more sustainably than Cabo Verde despite sharing similar structural conditions.
