We are recruiting in Pontchateau, France our future Environment, Health and Safety Manager with awesome working experience and expertise of HSE in general with a focus on environment such as waste & water management, ISO certifications, etc.


As our HSE Plant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental, health and safety regulations, implementing effective safety programs, and promoting a culture of safety awareness within the organization.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Establish, monitor and improve the environmental and safety management system on the site.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with French regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Ensure that the management system in place contributes to the continuous improvement of performance.
  • Ensure that environmental management systems comply with the requirements of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Research and validate waste streams.
  • Lead and participate in the establishment of the site’s HSE objectives and targets and in the implementation of the HSE program.
  • Ensure that all tests and inspections are carried out to verify compliance with all standards applicable to the site.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to minimize or eliminate hazards.
  • Manage the action plans relating to the various HSE areas
  • Represent the Management in dealings with local authorities or internal organizations.
  • Ensure compliance with future standards and changes in standards.
  • Conduct risk analysis and oversee regulatory investigation.
  • Climb, using the QRQC approach, any malfunction or drift.
  • Provide training to employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the use of safety equipment.
  • Collaborate with management and department heads to ensure health and safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of the company's operations.


Job Requirement


First of all, as you will be managing a team of HSE professionals, this role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential hazards.


  • University degree in HSE and/or relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years proven experience as an HSE Manager, in an industrial environment (ideally metallurgy/automotive,food) and 5-10 years experience in HSE in general
  • Expertise of environmental and safety texts and regulations.
  • Deep working Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards as well as of environmental and safety analysis methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify and resolve potential security issues.
  • Expertise of auditing techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees on safety procedures.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to influence and promote a culture of security awareness and compliance throughout the organization.
  • Proficiency in the use of relevant software and tools for security management and reporting.
  • Fluency in English is absolutely mandatory (B2+/C1) as you will have daily contact within the group
