Change.org is searching for a Communications Specialist to help grow brand awareness in France through work with media and social media by producing powerful storytelling and fostering credibility. You will report to our Communications Manager, France. As a key member of our Marketing and Communication teams, you’ll identify petitions with strong stories, produce compelling content in French, partner with journalists and influencers and develop social media strategies for the French market.

We’re a social impact business (a public benefit company), and the world's largest social change platform with 100m monthly users, 50,000+ campaigns launched on the site every month, and a 100% user-generated revenue model. Our users win campaigns for change once every hour.

From mobilizing over 5 million people to investigate the fires in the Amazon, to mobilizing nearly 3 million against war and famine in Yemen, to large-scale mobilizations for the people of Iran and against the war in Ukraine, and calling for Racial Justice in the US, many movements were born on Change.org. Dozens of local, national, and international victories are happening every day thanks to the strength of our members who are changing the lives of people around the world. Key Outcomes:

  • Identify petitions with the potential to become strong stories through which we can amplify our brand mission and values
  • Identify journalists and influencers for potential media coverage of our activities; regularly update our media database
  • Produce compelling content for press releases, the website, and social media, and prepare petition starters for interviews in media
  • Build solid relationships with journalists and influencers who could enhance brand awareness through their publications
  • Develop impactful social media strategies to enhance online awareness of our brand

The most important core competencies for the role are:

  • Experience in producing high-quality PR and a successful track record of pitching stories to journalists
  • Experience in implementing social media strategies and building relationships with influencers
  • Advanced writing skills adaptable to different audiences and platforms, with the capacity to quickly produce quality content in French
  • Awareness of the news cycle in France, as well as the social and political agenda, including key issues and events
  • Video and photo production skills, as well as experience working in Canva or Adobe, are a plus

Target experience:

  • 5+ years of industry level experience working in PR, communications or related field with focus on media and influencer relations
  • 2+ years of experience working with social media, including content creation and experience with relevant tools
  • Excellent written and spoken French (native level) and advanced English

This is a full time role with a full remote work option and while we strongly prefer someone living in Paris, we are open to those located across France. Resumes should be submitted in English for review.

Our compensation philosophy is based on pay equity. All of our salaries are determined before we launch a role – they are based on a predetermined salary scale, the level on that scale and the cost of labor for that location. The annual salary of a Communications Specialist, France is 55,000 Euro.
