It is intended to support graduate education of meritorious nuclear engineering students.
Saul Levine was one of the pioneers in advancing the understanding of nuclear reactor safety. Saul Levine was one of the pioneers in advancing the understanding of nuclear reactor safety. As a member of the Regulatory Branch of the Atomic Energy Commission, one of his most prominent contributions, made together with Norman Rasmussen, is the pioneering "Reactor Safety Study" (WASH-1400), completed during 1973-1975. The Reactor Safety Study was the first major risk assessment of nuclear power plants and is a fundamental document to today's risk assessments. Saul Levine died in 1984. -
