As a member of the Regulatory Branch of the Atomic Energy Commission, one of his most prominent contributions, made together with Norman Rasmussen, is the pioneering "Reactor Safety Study" (WASH-1400), completed during 1973-1975. The Reactor Safety Study was the first major risk assessment of nuclear power plants and is a fundamental document to today's risk assessments. Saul Levine died in 1984.
