A Celebration of Achievement: DHL CIM Supervisory Program Graduates, let’s party! This week, we celebrate the culmination of months of effort and learning. The 29 French graduates of the #CIMSupervisoryprogram are ready to take on new challenges, equipped with new skills and a collaborative spirit. This achievement reflects their commitment and the power of facilitation in transforming learning experiences. Congratulations to the graduates, their managers, and thank you to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. This was made possible thanks to the great Global and European CIS team and, of course, DHL facilitators! Behing the celebration, is the art of Facilitation In the dynamic world of corporate training at DHL, facilitation has emerged as a cornerstone technique, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and growth. Today, as we celebrate the remarkable achievement of 29 French Supervisors who have completed the CIM Supervisory program, it's important to reflect on the pivotal role that facilitation has played in their journey. But what really lies behind the concept of facilitation? At DHL we know that facilitation is more than just a method of delivering content. Il is a comprehensive approach that involves guiding a group through a process to achieve their goals. Unlike traditional training methods, facilitation empowers participants to take an active role in their learning. The DHL facilitators creates an environment where discussions are encouraged and learning is a shared experience. The Power of Facilitation in the DHL CIM Supervisory Program The CIM Supervisory program is designed to equip DHL Supervisors with the necessary skills to lead effectively. Over several months, French DHL facilitators have guided 330 supervisors through a comprehensive learning journey, using facilitation techniques to maximize the training's impact. Methods included interactive workshops, group discussions, role-playing, and real-life problem-solving scenarios. This approach not only imparted crucial DHL Supervisory skills but also built a strong sense of camaraderie among the participants. As DHL Supervisors receive their diplomas this week, it is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the effectiveness of the facilitation approach. The knowledge and skills they have acquired will benefit their professional growth and our organization’s success. #DHL #DHLEXPRESS #FACILITATION #CIS #CIM #GRADUATION #CIMSUPERVISORY

Renault Trucks electrifies its in-house logistics 🚛 As a key player in the decarbonisation of transport, Renault Trucks is pressing ahead with its initiatives by electrifying its in-house logistics flows. The first stage of this project involves the electrification of axle transport between its Lyon and Bourg-en-Bresse plants. The 450,000 km driven each year between the two production sites will be handled by Dupessey & Co and Transports Chazot using five 44 t Renault Truck E-Tech T electric vehicles. “Applying here at Renault Trucks the solutions we offer our customers.” This is how Renault Trucks could sum up its approach to the electrification of logistics, which has been up and running for a few days now. Thanks to the launch of the electric 44-tonne truck, which marks a real step forward in inter-regional and mid- distance e-distribution, the French manufacturer has decided to switch to Renault Trucks E-Tech T 4×2 tractors for the supply of goods to the Bourg-en-Bresse plant. In practical terms, two partner hauliers have been chosen to carry out this task over the next six years, namely the Dupessey&Co group and Transports Chazot. Five electric trucks, each loaded with 22 tonnes of equipment, will make two round trips a day (360 km) to deliver the axles, manufactured at the Lyon site, to the Bourg-en-Bresse plant, where the heavy duty trucks are assembled. Depending on the flow of goods, the number of deliveries can be increased, with up to seven trucks on the road in a single day. The trucks will require an interim charge of 45-50 minutes once a day at the Lyon site, where a charging station has been set up specifically for this purpose. The vehicles will also be charged every evening at the depots of the two hauliers... Great write up on re:Charge and the impact universal charging can have on operations. Given shared micromobility contracts are so short it's no wonder shared mobility companies, especially those in markets with multiple operators, have not yet fielded a charging solution that can reduce their costs and improve operations. Is 3rd party charging as a service the future?

As our electrifying journey continues, our next destination is #India. Here, we have recently launched electric vehicles (EVs) to decarbonise its road services. Joined by Hansjoerg Rodi, Executive VP #RoadLogistics, David Roussiere, Cluster Manager of India, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, and Chellan Ganesan, Road Logistics Area Manager for Asia and the Pacific countries, the team enthusiastically shared its ambition: to have 60% low-emission vehicles in its own fleet by 2030. The Indian government has set its sights on propelling the nation toward a developed country status by 2047, with a strong emphasis on EVs and the transition to a low-carbon economy. To catalyse widespread EV adoption, the government is implementing measures such as tax incentives, production-linked incentives, and charging infrastructure development. We are excited to actively contribute to this national commitment by electrifying our fleet in India, supporting local companies, and advancing sustainable transportation solutions. According to Chellan, “Embracing electric mobility is vital for transitioning to a zero-carbon future.” Through this initiative, we take significant strides toward achieving our ESG goals, a cornerstone of our #Roadmap2026.

Some good news for 2024 and beyound ! Despite the particular geo-political context, present throughout Europe and the world, we nevertheless have a few reasons to hope for a good year in the supply chain! Reasons to be cheerful with Supply chain professionals ! The report shows an overall positive change in net sentiment across the sector, underlining rising confidence in the global economy: There was a substantial drop in the number of supply chain professionals expecting global demand for goods to decrease, falling from 45% in 2023 to 21% in 2024; those expecting stability jumped from 24% to 43%; and the share of businesses who sees global recession as a key risk fell from 42% to 34%.

The new Ceva Logistics - Road to success? Here we go: Today's ITJ: Quote A strategic transformation Ceva Logistics, the logistics subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, has created a new vertical organisation to give its customers easier access to the global logistics capabilities of its portfolio, which comprises air, ocean, ground and rail transport services, contract logistics, finished vehicle logistics, project logistics and customs solutions. Bolloré Logistics, which was acquired by the CMA CGM Group on 29 February, will be integrated into this new organisational model, while Ceva and Bolloré will move forward under the unified "Ceva Logistics" brand. The rebranding process is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. Ceva generated pro forma 2023 revenue of USD 20.2 billion through transporting 1.9 million teu of ocean freight, 800,000 t of airfreight and managing 11.7 million sqm of warehouse space. Unquote It appears that Ceva Logitics will continue to be run as a totally separate and "neutral" Global Logistics Service Provider. This is a neccessity because, otherwise, CMA CGM might lose the support of their sizeable NVOCC customers. If we now compare CMA CGM and Maersk, it's a huge difference! Maersk is targeting business (one stop shopping) which has so far been controlled by Maersk's NVOCC customers. But Maersk appears to solely focus on BCO business and prefers not to continue the previous NVOCC / Freight Forwarder relationships (with very few exceptions). Which model will win/succeed on a long term basis? If we look at all major liners, CMA CGM and Maersk are the only ones to focus on Global Logitics activities (you may want to mention MSC with the small Atlantic Forwarding subsidiary - but it is so small that it does not count). As long as CMA CGM continues to let Ceva Logistics be run as a separate and "neutral" entity, I believe that CMA CGM will be supported by their NVOCC customers. For BCO's it appears that Maersk is not neutral re Global Logistics in contrast to the "old" DAMCO times. Maersk prefers the BCO business (one stop shopping) but we all know that NVOCC's will not support Maersk "once there are options/alternatives". As long as the Red Sea trouble continues, all liner companies will make a lot of money and "don't need the NVOCC volumes". But times will change....
