    Facilitating opportunities for personal and professional growth is an important factor in engaging with our employees so that everyone at Sodexo feels empowered to act with purpose and thrive in their own way. We actively nurture a growth mindset as part of our culture, and are proud to invest in helping our employees across all levels of the organisation learn new skills, hone their expertise and contribute to the greater team. Building on the success of our last Learning Month in 2022, we kicked off the 2024 APMEA Learning@Work program in June. We are thrilled to have 752 unique participants from across APMEA, with 2,245 training spots covering 15 diverse topics. All in all, our program features 48 facilitator-led training sessions running from June to September, demonstrating our commitment to continuous learning and professional development. We are proud to share that so far, Learning@Work has received participation from 609 colleagues from across the APMEA region in 47 unique internal and externally-led training sessions, covering 15 diverse topics this quarter (May-July), with more sessions to come in August and September. A big THANK YOU goes to our dedicated internal subject matter experts David Latimer-Jones, Luyis Soo, Qi Ni Lee, Kasturi D., Anshu Mittal, Sarah Longley Sutcliffe, Erika Vianca Dalangin, Rowell Vitor Mariano and Christina D'Souza for delivering multiple fantastic sessions!     According to the Australian Institute of Family Studies, almost one third of the Indigenous population experience food insecurity in regional and remote areas of Australia. That's why Sodexo's Stop Hunger initiative is extending its reach, getting nutritious meals into rural communities in the Pilbara where they're needed most. Our latest partnership with Yurra will deliver 56 healthy frozen meals each week to Indigenous communities serviced by Yurra. Over the course of three weekends, we delved into the intricacies of the mine's supply chain, gaining valuable insights into their operations. It was truly an eye-opening experience to witness firsthand the hard work and dedication of our Rio Tinto colleagues. The tour allowed us to engage in meaningful conversations and appreciate the impact of our village operations on the iron ore business.     Yesterday, Johnpaul Dimech, our Region CEO for APMEA spoke on a panel titled “Unlocking the Gold in Green” at the Singapore Apex Business Summit alongide Aileen Tan (Singtel), Sze-Meng Soon (GoNetZero) and Frank Phuan (Sunseap) to discuss the pragmatic benefits and opportunities for businesses to adopt a proactive approach towards sustainability. The moderator Praveen Tekchandani (EY) set the scene with findings from EY’s recent Sustainable Value Study that companies taking the most action to address climate change are 1.8 times more likely to report higher than expected financial value from their climate initiatives compared to those taking the least action. With this context, the panelists shared concrete and insightful examples of how teams and leaders can shift their approach from compliance-based to seeing green initiatives as opportunities to differentiate, generate profit and even attract and retain top talent for future growth. At Sodexo, our journey since our founding has held true to our mission of making a better everyday for everyone. Johnpaul shared three key practices that have characterized our approach so far: 🎯 Deliver on our commitments by leading by example.     July is celebrated as Nutrition Month in the Philippines, and in honor of this important occasion, Rose Ann Valderama Pastry Sous Chef, took our clients on a delicious journey through Philippine cuisine, showcasing its rich tapestry of flavors and traditions. The focus of her culinary talk was the treasured art of native rice cakes and their history, which has evolved over the years. Our clients appreciated the activity and had the opportunity to learn about, taste, and appreciate the rich tradition of Philippine rice cakes. Chef Rose, expertly weaving history and flavor, delved into the significance of rice cakes in Filipino culture. The audience embarked on a sensory exploration of these delectable treats, discovering sweet bites, including creamy “Inutak,” classic “Bibingka,” “Puto Bumbong,” and “Panyam Tausug,” as well as savory bites such as Chicken and Vegetarian Bringhe—from the Culinary Capital of the Philippines, Pampanga (an indigenization of Spanish Paella)—and Chicken Tamales, made from glutinous rice flour, coconut milk, spices, and chicken. Tamales have their origins in Mesoamerica, dating back to 700 B.C. This event underscored our dedication to promoting nutrition and wellness, leaving a lasting and positive impression on our clients. Chef Rose's expertise and passion for healthy eating not only made this a memorable experience but also enhanced the overall food experience for our clients.
