July 11 is World Population Day – a day recognized in more than 90 countries to raise awareness of global population issues and their relationship to the environment and development. We understand that good vision changes everything: access to proper eyecare can improve the safety, economic development and life-quality of a population. From urban areas to the most remote regions of the globe, our organization is dedicated to reaching populations across the world to eliminate uncorrected poor vision in underserved communities. To expand vision care access, we provide free and subsidized eye care services to people in need, drive advocacy and awareness among policy makers, innovate for affordable solutions and create sustainable access through programs like Eye Mitra (which trains young under-employed men and women in rural and semi-urban areas to become primary vision care providers). Learn more about our global efforts to provide everyone with ‘The Right To See’ by following our page today. #WorldPopulationDay #SeeMoreBeMore #TheRightToSee #GoodVisionChangesEverything

| A Journey of a Lifetime for ‘The Right To See’ Photo Competition Winners | Winners from last year’s ‘The Right To See’ photo competition embarked on a journey of a lifetime in South Africa to provide people in the Hoedspruit community with critical vision screenings. We believe in ‘The Right To See’, because good vision changes everything. Over the course of a five-day vision clinic, our team of six photo competition winners, volunteers from EssilorLuxottica and partners from Tshemba Foundation screened 1,210 beneficiaries and dispensed 871 glasses to those in need. We look forward to unleashing the full potential of the school-going children, working adults and elderly in the Hoedspruit community. The Foundation remains determined to eliminate uncorrected poor vision in a generation. Click the link below to see the Hoedspruit clinic in action: https://lnkd.in/gKiUENTV

Of the 217.5 million people in Brazil, more than 71 million suffer from uncorrected poor vision. We want to change that. Good vision changes everything, it empowers people professionally, academically, and in their day-to-day activities. Good vision unlocks people's potential to engage more fully in every aspect of their lives – which is why we believe everyone has the right to see. Repost this and share how you have witnessed good vision change your life or someone else’s around you. #TheRightToSee #GoodVisionChangesEverything #SeeMoreBeMore

| Empowering A Cambodian Community Through Free & Subsidized Vision Care | Not only is good vision a tool that truly sets people up for academic, professional and social success, it is a basic human right. Our recent vison clinic in Arey Ksat Province, Phnom Penh Cambodia aimed to empower this community through access to proper eye care. Pov PANG, Business Development Manager at Essilor Cambodia, shared, “Our participation in the Foundation’s charity events is crucial; it's not just about providing glasses, but about unlocking new opportunities and creating lasting change for individuals longing to see the world clearly again.” With the help of our partners Khmer Sight Foundation and Humanitarian with Love, our team of volunteers conducted eye screenings for 3,000 people. 60% of those seen were in need of vison correction, provided by the Foundation. | 29th National Eye Care Day in China | In celebration of National Eye Care Day in China, we collaborated with various partners in the country to conduct vision screenings for communities in need. We successfully reached beneficiaries of all ages – dispensing nearly 50,000 pairs of glasses to those living with uncorrected poor vision. In the EssilorLuxottica office, we took the opportunity to host meaningful conversations on the importance of good vision and discuss what more is needed to make impactful change within China. The outcomes from the session include a general consensus that raising awareness on the importance of vision care through public education has a profound and enduring impact on people's behavior and is essential in driving long term behavioral change. #SeeMoreBeMore #NationalEyeCareDayChina #China

Did you know that 1 in 3 people globally live with uncorrected poor vision? 90% of these beneficiaries live in base of pyramid communities, where there is limited access to vision care, low awareness of the importance of eye health and a lack of trained optometry professionals available to provide essential vision care. Tele-refraction offers us the opportunity to bridge these gaps, allowing urban-based optometrists to extend their expertise to rural and remote areas, providing verified vision care services without the need for beneficiaries to travel far for in-person visits. In partnership with Dr. Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital, we jointly published groundbreaking clinical research in the peer reviewed journal, PLOS ONE, confirming that tele-refraction screenings conform to the gold standards of face-to-face eye exams. Tele-refraction allows us to enhance access to vision care for underserved populations living in base of pyramid communities. We look forward to integrating this model within new and existing partnerships with optometry associations and like-minded partners across the world, accelerating existing efforts to help people around the globe ‘see more and be more’. | Making an impact in Ireland: Providing vulnerable communities with critical vision care services | Everybody has the right to see because good vision changes everything. This is especially true for vulnerable populations or displaced communities looking to adapt, communicate and learn in a new environment. In Ireland, we worked with valuable partners including the Irish Red Cross, Irish Refugee Council, Help Services Executive (HSE) and Southside Partnership DLR to provide vision screenings to over 500 beneficiaries in need. This effort was supported by 50 volunteers from EssilorLuxottica teams, including Transitions Optical, OLM, Vision Express and Rupp + Hubrach Optik GmbH, among many others. These efforts get us one step closer to successfully eliminating uncorrected poor vision in a generation - thank you everyone for your invaluable contributions, and we hope to see you at the next clinic!
