Olea Medical - Improved Diagnosis for Life

The city of Philadelphia turned purple this past week for the 14,000 attendees of the #Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (#AAIC24), the world’s largest #dementia research conference. I was privileged to speak in a session entitled “40 Years Plus 1: Discussing How to Operationalize Eisai Inc. and Biogen's Anti-Amyloid Option for Early Alzheimer's Disease.” At #AAIC, I was inspired by the vast number of my colleagues who have dedicated their lives in a collaborative effort to move the needle on Alzheimer’s disease through innovative research on #biomarkers, risk reduction, early detection, and early treatment to give patients the best possible opportunity for prolonged quality of life. I predict in the coming year we will see further optimization of workflow surrounding early detection and treatment, enhanced insight from imaging and blood-based biomarkers, and further advancements in #AI solutions to enhance patient care. AI tools I am most excited about in the dementia space include: 1. Further utilization of #Quantitative #Volumetric #MRI (#QMRI) as a subclinical biomarker of disease severity at presentation & for longitudinal follow-up (widely available) 2. QMRI for automated #ARIA detection, segmentation, and radiographic grading (FDA pending) 3. Further utilization of Quantitative #Amyloid #PET interpretation tools (SUVR/Centiloid) (available & also developing) 4. A #Digital Nurse Navigator for streamlined workflow of patients on therapy (currently in development) 5.
