Amelia begins contrail avoidance live trials! 🤝 Since 2022, Amelia has been working with Thales Aerospace / Thales Green Operations on the development of their Flights Footprint tool, in order to analyse and reduce our impact on the environment (greenhouse gases such as CO2 or water vapour, and ‘non-CO2’ effects such as nitrogen oxides or contrails). 🌍 Since the beginning of June 2024, a dozen flights have been analysed, starting from the planning phase, in order to adjust the flight profile and avoid condensation trails. The results of Amelia’s trials are extremely encouraging, with a potential reduction of between 30% and 40% in the overall climate impact (CO2 and non-CO2) as a result of trajectory modification✅ These tests are all the more important as they are likely the first to be carried out in Europe in an operational context. The implementation of these trials is supported by the CORAC and the Direction Generale de l'Aviation Civile as part of the France 2030 project; they will continue in the months and years to come! This groundbreaking approach also allows us to prepare as of now to meet the European requirements for monitoring and reporting non-CO2 emissions, which are due to come into force from January 1st, 2025. 🇪🇺✈️ Want to know more? Amelia débute les essais d’évitement de traînées de condensation en conditions réelles ! 🤝 Depuis 2022, Amelia collabore avec Thales Aerospace / Thales Green Operations sur le développement de la solution Flights Footprint, afin d’analyser et de réduire notre impact sur l’environnement (gaz à effet de serre comme le CO2 ou la vapeur d’eau, et effets “hors-CO2” comme les oxydes d’azotes ou les traînées de condensation.) 🌍 Ainsi, depuis début juin 2024, une douzaine de vols a été analysée dès la phase de planification, afin d’ajuster le profil de vol et éviter les traînées de condensation. Les résultats des essais d’Amelia sont extrêmement encourageants, avec un potentiel de réduction de l’impact climatique global - CO2 et non-CO2 - considérable (de 30% à 40%), résultant de la modification de la trajectoire✅ Ces essais sont d’autant plus importants qu’il s’agit certainement des premiers réalisés en Europe dans un cadre opérationnel. AMELIA completes the expansion of its Airbus fleet! We are delighted to announce the expansion of our fleet with the arrival of three Airbus A320 family aircraft! These additions will strengthen AMELIA's capabilities and enable us to offer an even better service to our valued customers. First two aircraft in service The first two aircraft, F-HDRE and F-HDRF respectively, have already joined our fleet and successfully started operations for our customer Air France on April 23rd and June 19th. This marks an important milestone for AMELIA, demonstrating our commitment to continued growth. Third aircraft on the horizon The latest aircraft, soon to be registered as F-HRDG, has just landed in Europe, where the final modifications will be carried out in order to obtain its French registry, and thus be added to our AOC (Air Operator Certificate). This strategic fleet expansion will enhance the operational efficiency and flexibility of AMELIA's fleet. Aircraft details The three aircraft are leased from a major international leasing company, Aercap, and were previously operated by China Southern. These aircraft will offer a number of advantages: shared resources (training of the same crew, same technical support), the possibility of quickly modifying them to a two-class configuration; it is also the type of aircraft most in demand on the market. #Flyamelia
