She brings profound knowledge of the voluntary carbon market (VCM) and the dynamics of carbon credit supply and demand. Apsara’s versatility in multi-stakeholder environments enhances our team’s capability to navigate and innovate in the evolving VCM landscape. 🌟Apsara possesses a great understanding of both European and Asian carbon markets, complemented by a background in sustainability consulting and greenhouse gas (GHG) measuring and reduction. She holds a dual degree from Sciences Po Paris and the London School of Economics in Urban Policy & Local Economic Development. 🌱 Previously, Apsara supported carbon project development and carbon credit sales at South Pole. I had a great time at the ClimateHack Summit in beautiful Lausanne last week!🇨🇭 I was thrilled to see rice decarbonization high on the agenda, a topic that often doesn’t get the attention it deserves 🍚🌍. Kudos to Emilie Dellecker, Laura Hodgkiss, and Sonalie Figueiras for highlighting this important issue! We had an insightful panel discussion featuring fantastic speakers with diverse approaches to the problem. Many thanks to Sonalie Figueiras for inviting me and moderating the discussion. 📣 Great news for voluntary carbon markets! 🌿 The U.S. Government has just unveiled a new policy statement highlighting the need for high-quality carbon credits for effective climate action. 🌎 "If done right, Voluntary Carbon Markets can provide new revenue opportunities for farmers [...] and the rural communities they live in, all while driving needed investment in nature-based climate solutions across the agriculture and forestry sectors" said Agriculture Secretary Vilsack. CarbonFarm very much shares this vision of the market! 📣 Meet our savvy AI Engineer, Dr Simone Marullo from Italy! ✨👨💻🖥️ Simone is an expert in AI applied to the field of Computer Vision, with a focus on agriculture applications. Simone holds a PhD in Machine Learning from the University of Florence, as well as a bachelor and master degree in software engineering from the University of Sienna, Italy.💫 He is deeply passionate in technology transfer and meaningful AI applications, especially for climate-related initiatives. Simone joined the team last December and has since been working on developing state-of-the-art AI models to assess farming practices used in rice fields from satellite images. 🛰️ In his free time, Simone enjoys hiking trails, immersing himself in the tranquility of nature.
