Rain, snow mix possible across parts of Middle Tennessee early Friday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — FOX 17 News is monitoring for a potential Code Red Weather Alert day on Friday morning for light snow that's possible across Middle Tennessee.

The system arrives Thursday evening as a cold ran. Showers will remain scattered overnight Thursday.

As most of the moisture moves out of the area, cold air will begin to filter. Light snow could develop Friday morning. The best chance of accumulation will be east of I-65 toward the Plateau.

Up to 1 inch of snow is possible with pockets up to 2 inches.

Keep in mind, this type of system could change quickly, bringing more of the mid-state accumulating snow, or nothing at all.
