Our threat for snow and snowfall accumulation Friday night into Saturday has greatly increased. Incoming colder air will keep temperatures in a sweet spot for mainly snow as a system tracking to our north clips of Southern Kentucky and Middle Tennessee.

Most areas will at least see periods of snow. Accumulation is not expected for everyone, however, areas east of I-65 have the best chance.

The Nashville metro even has the potential for a dusting to a half inch of snow this time around. Higher elevations will see those totals climb as high as 1-2" inches by the end of Saturday. Regardless of the final totals, this snow will fall over roughly an 18-hour period, so it will add up slowly.

Areas that see less snow will still get the cold. Highs for everyone will struggle to reach the 40-degree mark on Saturday.

If you must be on the roads, be sure to be safe and practice all safe winter weather driving procedures.
