Tracking potential Code Red day for Monday, Tuesday of next week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — FOX 17 News is tracking our next potential Code Red day for Monday to Tuesday of next week.

A strong storm system looks to sweep across the country early next week. While it's too soon for details, severe storms appear to be possible at this point.

There are two ways Chief Meteorologist Katy Morgan sees it playing out. The high impact would be if severe weather ingredients align to produce strong storms capable of high wind gusts and heavy rain. The low impact would be if ingredients are limited that would keep storms below severe levels, but still receive a soaking rain.

Timing and strength will be determined later this week as the SkyWatch 17 Weather Team gets a better handle on the system.
