A man in trouble got into even deeper trouble when authorities arrived and reported him moving his car from one spot to another in his driveway.

Deputies in Florida said Matthew Dillon Ault was “sending messages to his ex-girlfriend [name], stating, ‘Youre going to get murdered it would definitely wont be me but your going to get f****** murdered and Im going not going to f****** feel bad.’

“The defendant also sent a message,” his arrest report continued, “saying, ‘if I was remotely close to you Ide come over there and f****** kill you.’
“The defendant also made multiple threats to kill himself and stated he would hang himself.”

The deputies got to his home on June 20 and said they “observed the defendant in his 2014 blue in color Kia Soul.”

Then, the arrest report said they “observed the defendant move the vehicle from the driveway to the right side of the driveway, then exit the driver seat.

“We made contact with the defendant, who had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person. The defendant’s eyes were red and watery, as well.

“When [one] asked if he had been drinking, defendant stated that he had one beer.
“I then asked the defendant if he had sent the threatening messages to the victim.

“He stated that he had sent the messages but was not going to actually harm the victim.

“I attempted to read the defendant his Miranda rights from an agency-issued Miranda card but while attempting to read the defendant his rights, he laid on the ground and pretended to be unresponsive.”

Ault was arrested and taken to the hospital for medical clearance, and then to jail.

“I attempted to conduct standardized field sobriety exercises with the defendant,” his arrest report said, “but the defendant became belligerent and stated that he had been arrested in his home for no reason.
“During my entire encounter, the defendant continued to forget why he was arrested, and asked me multiple times.

“The defendant was explained that if he did not complete the field sobriety exercises, I would have to use my observations as evidence. The defendant still refused to complete the exercises.

“I then requested the defendant provide a breath sample determine his blood alcohol content, where he once again refused.

“I read the defendant the Florida implied consent form as he was belligerent and yelling at me. The defendant still refused to provide a test of his breath.”

Ault had apparently not calmed down when it was time to take his booking photo. He appeared to be held down by one detention deputy with at least one other with a blue glove standing by closely at his side.

Ault, 37, was charged with intimidation-sending a written threat to kill and DUI. He spent two days in jail until his release in lieu of $2,500 bond.
