UPDATE:

The victims of a murder-suicide at a Dunlap nursing home Monday have been identified.

District Attorney Courtney Lynch identifies them as Kirk and Marcie Bubul.

We will update this story as we learn more.

EARLIER:

A shooting at a nursing home in Dunlap, Tennessee has left 2 people dead Monday.

Dunlap Police Chief Randy Phillips says one of the victims was a resident at the home, and she was shot by her husband, who then turned the gun on himself.

This happened at NHC Healthcare Sequatchie on Dell Trail, and Chief Phillips says there is no threat to the public.

Police Chief Randy Phillips says...

“We have the ages and stuff, and we have identified them, but we're not releasing that at this time.”

Chief Phillips tells us the TBI and local district attorney are now investigating the matter.

The suspect's car, found in front of the facility, is being processed and looked at by the DA and the TBI.

12th Judicial District Attorney General Courtney Lynch tells us in an email that officers from the Kimball Police Department found "suicide notes" when they checked the Bubul's home. Lynch later clarified that the notes were all written by Mr. Bubul.

Police would not reveal any more details to us Monday.

For now...

"We're in the process of releasing the scene now and turning it back over to NHC.”

The NHC told us in a statement Monday evening...

"Please keep our NHC partners and patients in your thoughts as we navigate through this terrible loss. The Dunlap police department has assured us that this was an isolated incident and that there is no active threat to our patients, staff, or the public. We are working closely with both the Dunlap police department and Sequatchie Sherriff’s department in this ongoing investigation to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in our community."

The building is operating as normal, but has added security from the police department.

Depend on us to keep you posted.
