The district attorney in Sumner County wants a teen accused of murder to be tried as an adult.

On July 3, human remains, later identified as 17-year-old Trinity Bostic of Macon County, were discovered off a state route in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Days later, a 17-year-old male teen of Westmoreland was arrested on a first-degree murder charge. Hendersonville Police Department have not released the suspect's identity because he is a minor, but Sumner County District Attorney General Ray Whitley says the two teens knew each other.

Now, DA General Ray Whitley says he aims to file a petition to try the teen suspect as an adult after the detention hearing.

A judge will determine if the suspected murderer remains in custody or gets out on bail.

A transfer hearing will then occur which is when the petition will be filed.

The detention hearing for the teen suspect is set for July 11 at 1 p.m. at the Sumner County Courthouse.

Since her tragic death, those close to Trinity have described her as "full of love" and "genuine."
