(UPDATE: July 9 at 8:50 p.m.) -- Code Red Weather threat has expired for Middle Tennessee, southern Kentucky

---

FOX 17 News is in a Code Red Weather alert as the remnants of Hurricane Beryl move towards southern Kentucky on Tuesday.

ACTIVE WATCHES & WARNINGS

  • Tornado Watch for southern Kentucky counties until 11 p.m.

Some Middle Tennessee counties experienced Tornado Warnings earlier Tuesday, but the threat has left The Volunteer State.

The main concern in southern Kentucky now will be the chance for quick spin-up tornadoes during the afternoon and evening. These cells will be quick moving, so flooding is not a concern heading through the day.

We'll dry out and be mostly sunny for the end of the week and into the start of the weekend.

As of now, there is just a slim chance for a few showers and storms Sunday and Monday.
