Gypsy Rose Blanchard announces pregnancy: 'I want to be everything my mother wasn't'

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is going to be a mom.

The 32-year-old announced in a YouTube video Tuesday that she is expecting her first baby with boyfriend Ken Urker.

"I know the rumors have been flying around for quite some time now, and I’m happy to announce that I am 11 weeks pregnant," Blanchard said in the video. "Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January of 2025. We're both very excited. This was not planned at all, it was completely unexpected."

Her news comes just three months after filing for divorce from Ryan Scott Anderson.

Blanchard married Anderson, a 37-year-old Louisiana middle school special education teacher, in 2022 while she was still incarcerated for her part in plotting with then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn to murder her mother, Clauddine “DeeDee” Blanchard.

She was released from prison in December after serving eight years of her 10-year sentence for second-degree murder.

In the video, she went on to explain what made her think she was expecting and what experiences she had during her first trimester.

"We're both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood," she added. "I've already experienced the symptoms. When I first learned I was pregnant the first thing I noticed was the cravings."

Blanchard also addressed some concerns from her followers about her becoming a mother.

"I know that there are going to be people that feel like I'm not ready to be a mother," she said before getting emotional about her childhood.

"All the things I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby," she said. "You know, knowing that I am a mother now, and I'm happy, and I just want to be a good mother for my child. I want to be everything my mother wasn't."
