Hi All!
I have updated my ASUS FE 1080ti with a enabledGOP and now the macpro 5,1 won't boot anymore.
If I remove 1080ti and put another card boot normal.
How I can boot with 1080ti and other card to try to put the firmware again?

If 1080ti is attached when press start button the Led turn ON but not sound the chime.

Any idea? Any help?

Thanks in Advance.

Seems a case where the GPU firmware is corrupted.

Maybe you can boot the card with a PC, if not, time to use a SPI flash programmer and flash the SPI flash memory of the GPU.

I bet that you can watch a video about the procedure, anyway, get a SPI flash programmer, a SOIC-8 clip, the original firmware for the GPU, teardown the GPU, connect the clip to the SPI flash memory, flash the original firmware and finally assembly the GPU again.

Could you recommend any SPI Flash Programmer?

Good!
I have already recovered my 1080Ti.

When I tried to update the firmware to enable the GOP so I could have a boot screen on the MacPro 5.1, there was an error and with the card installed it would not boot (not even to the chime).

The card had become a brick.

Steps to recover:

1.- On an HP Z800 I installed a Quadro P620, booted it so that it was recognized and set as default (UEFI).

2.- I turned off the Z800.

3.- I placed the 1080Ti in the second slot.

4.- I restarted and booted!!! In the device manager it appeared as unknown.

5.- I used the latest NVFLASH64.exe and was able to load the new ROM (with GOP ENABLED) and it worked perfectly.

a.- To list nvidia devices and see the number > type: nvflash64 -a
GTX 1080Ti is Number 0 in my case.

b.- To load a new ROM > type: nvflash64 -i0 -6 asusgop.rom
Accept all and ready.

c.- Reboot and GTX 1080Ti appear in Device Manager.

6.- Shutdown HP Z800 and remove GTX 1080Ti.

7.- I place the GTX 1080Ti with new ROM GOP Enabled in MacPro 5,1.

8.- Turn ON MacPro 5,1 and VOILA!!! Boot Screen appear and works OK!

Thank you very much Tsialex for showing me the way!
