iCloud Mail Currently Experiencing Issues [Update: Fixed]

Apple's iCloud Mail service is experiencing issues at the current time, and Apple's System Status page says that the service may be slow or unavailable for some users.

The outage began at 6:06 a.m. Pacific Time, and affected users may not be able to access their mail until the issue is resolved. Apple has not provided a timeline on when a fix might be available, but we'll update this article when the outage has been addressed.

Update: The iCloud Mail issue has been resolved.

I haven't been able to access iCloud mail on icloud.com since the redesign of the page. When I call AppleCare they reference one of these seemingly unrelated issues (that the mail is slow) and say it will be fixed in no time. There is no way to get through to them to let them know that it simply doesn't work at all (it still works in the apps).

I’ve been having issues with iCloud/mail for about three weeks or so. I’ve gotten used to it once I lowed my expectations of their products and services. 🤷‍♂️

I use my @me.com address as my primary email. Mainly because I use all Apple devices and it works nicely without additional setup, and because I like the very simple domain name.

I use to use mine infrequently, but once iCloud+ added domain support I've been using my domains instead.

That's my primary email domain, and I've convinced several family members to drop Gmail in favor of it. No ads or data harvesting.

This article doesn't go far enough to explain the scope of the issue. iCloud Mail via IMAP in the Mail app seems to be working fine for me on several devices. No issues.

Is it just the web-based access that's affected?

I like to think it affords me some extra respect in the Apple Store when they ask where to send my receipt (it doesn’t).
