iCloud Mail has been experiencing an issue over the past few hours and is currently down for some users, according to Apple's system status page.

General-iOS-Mail-Feature.jpg

There have been a number of reports on Twitter and from MacRumors readers over the past few hours, although the volume of reports doesn't seem terribly high, so the issue may be affecting only a relatively small percentage of users.

Apple says the iCloud Mail service may be "slow or unavailable," but no other iCloud services are currently listed as affected.

Update 1:05 a.m.: Apple says the issue has been fixed after more than nine hours.

It's been horrible since late afternoon. Some emails received but empty and deleted messages reappearing. Trying iCloud Mail in a browser also failed completely with an error message popping up. Doesn't matter if it's my MacBook's, iPhone's or iCloud's browser Mail. Even after it was going on for awhile, when I checked Apple's system status page, it was a green dot (no problems). My location is New Mexico.

I had problems for the past 3-4 hours tonight, not receiving or refreshing.

But it seems back to normal for me now in the US.

Mail is not working for my wife or my iCloud accounts. It's been down for over 5 hours. West Coast of US. I called Apple help line and they said that there is nothing I can do until service is restored.

Down for me. SoCal area. I keep getting the same emails sent to me as new even though I recently deleted them. #groundhogday 😂

Tenuous link to the article but arguably a prescient concern given Apple’s more recent performances - I am absolutely terrified that they will some day brick Hide My Email and I’ll irretrievably lose access to all my associated web logins therein. Fingers crossed it won’t happen but trusting Apple these days feels like playing fast & loose…

Wow. People are somewhat overreacting with 'what ifs'. It happens to everyone. Google has outages every single day With Google Service and YouTube somewhere in the world. Plus the latest Youtube update is crap with no response. I have to watch it through safari.

Nothing to see here.

With Apple raising prices on services like Apple One, TV+, and Music, they'll now be able to allocate more funds to their services infrastructure so outages like this never happen again

🤣

Usually when they are able to report that something is wrong with their services there is not much going on. Whenever services are down and the website says it is running that is when you should worry.
